EGON SCHIELE, Drawings and Watercolors

Like his drawings, wanted to learn a bit more about him and his life.

Sh...t My Dad Says (Justin Halpern)

My sister bought this book for her husband and I read it while visiting them on week-ends. It is a light and entertaining read about father and son relationship and it is the father who would attract all your attention and make you laugh.
He does not do anything comic, in fact, he is quite a serious man. His blunt straightforwardness and raw language may turn off some readers, but I enjoyed this honest and genuine character.

Non-fiction "To read" list

I'm a list person. I constantly create lists: Grocery list, To Do list, To Buy list, etc...Some regard this as a sign of a boring person and they might be right. I tried to be spontaneous and live without them, but my experiment ended up with disappointing discovery: there was no sense of accomplishment without lists. It felt as if my time was wasted...

So here is my To Read list I compiled today inspired by Goodreads.

Of Human Bondage ( W.Somerset Maugham )

In my twenties I read Painted Veil, Moon and Sixpence, Theatre, short stories and loved them all. A year ago I got Of Human Bondage, but quit reading on early chapters. It did not speak to me at all...

Something made me to return to this novel again and I made a second attempt. I downloaded a copy from Project Gutenberg and this time could not stop reading...

The novel IS a masterpiece. The story starts with Philip being orphaned in early childhood. Then a long and painful journey of growing and "finding yourself" unravels....

Extraordinary and brilliant narration, unforgettable story, deeply intellectual and emotional.
